It was started in 1979 as an artisan company; its industrial activity began in 1998.
Produces and trades chemical compounds and technologies developped enterily in its own Research and Development Center (CRS)set out to the Recovering and microstructural Maintenance of absorbent building materials for the covering and structure – stones – marble – granit – aggregates – agglomerates – terrecotte – ceramics – wood. It works with a wide range of innovative compounds (90 base formulas) and specific aplications technologies for the monumental and civil building, on new material and on old to recover.
Its products, highly technological, interact with the mineral components and the microstructure of the materials they get in contact with and they comply with all the strict requirements of the ecological and toxicological respect. They are addressed to the operator specialized on the building finishings and skilled maintenance:- house painters – tile and parquet layers – treaters – cleaning and building companies – recovering and restauration operators.
It sells to: – industries – building and ceramic retailers - chemical products retailers – colour and varnishes shops – hardwares – brick and mass markets. In Italy it trades thoroughly (over 1.200 clients) with also 28 multi-mandatory agents; overseas (some European countries and mediterranean basin –USA – other extra european countries) directly through the inside commercial office. The inside staff is made of 34 collaborators; it makes a turnover of 4,0 mil. €; it produces 1.300 ton. of chemical compounds, in an industrial structure of 4.300 sm. It carries out programs of applied and industrial research even with the aknowledgment and support of the Pubblic administration, through its CRS in which 4 chemist and geologist technicians work along with pubblic and private italian and foreign Research Centers.
It is characterized for the transfer of the specific research knolwledge– coming from the passed on traditional experiences and combined with the basic scientific research - to the industrial and artisan operators, technicians – designers – buidling site responsibles – architects – etc., we also motivate the research and the innovation in the conservation sector aimed to satisfy the needs of the professional consumers and the material’s industries, - for the treatment of new material – recovering – restoration. To do so, it gives technical assistance to the professional clients through the support of the trade forces along with inside technicians, training meetings and operative stages in its head office and at major retailers and in the state professional training centers.
Geal technically leads works of restoration – recovering – protection of fronts/antigraffiti, a remarkable technical and economic demand, using generic and/or specialistic outside workers. It also produces personalized chemical compounds and industrial finishing protection cycles for those industries which work in the fields object of our offer so to give them new perspectves and innovation regarding the absorbent building materials for floorings, coverings, structure ( cotto – wood – stone) mostly requested in the Bio-building, which are nowadays without a precise technological and scientific support for the respect and diffusion of their original and millenary eco-environmental status.
